When I started my digital business, I thought “If I create beautiful products, people will automatically find them.”
But the reality was very different.
Looking back, I can clearly see the mistakes I made — and maybe my experience can help you avoid the same struggles.
1. I Created Products Before Understanding My Audience
I designed what I liked… not what people were searching for.
Pretty doesn’t always mean profitable.
What I learned:
Create for a real problem, not only for aesthetics.
2. I Didn’t Study Keywords Properly
I uploaded items on Etsy and hoped for the best.
No keyword research, no SEO, no strategy.
Of course — no one found my work.
What I learned:
Visibility is a skill, not luck.
3. I Was Everywhere and Nowhere at the Same Time
Instagram… TikTok… website…
I tried to do everything at once.
Result?
Burnout + no consistency.
What I learned:
Pick one platform. Grow slowly. Be consistent.
4. I Focused on Perfecting Instead of Publishing
I spent hours adjusting colours, aligning boxes, redesigning the same template again and again.
What I learned:
Done is better than perfect.
Perfect doesn’t make money — consistency does.
5. I Expected Fast Results
I thought digital business = easy income.
But like anything meaningful, it takes time.
What I learned:
Success is slow. Growth is slow.
And that’s completely okay.
6. I Didn’t Join Any Community
I tried learning alone, guessing everything.
No support, no guidance.
What I learned:
Having a community or mentor speeds up growth.
